Around here, Easter was celebrated over a four day weekend! To kick off the long weekend, Mackenzie had a track meet at school. Much to our excitement (and an ounce of surprise), she won the high jump! It was so fun to watch her do something that I haven’t a clue how to do.
Now that the weather is gorgeous, we’re spending a lot of time outside – playing, helping Nana in the garden, picnicking at the park, etc. Josh even “fixed” dinner for us out at the fort one night.
On Saturday morning, Nana took all of the kids to the church for a huge egg hunt. Meanwhile, Josh and I got to stay home for a blissful, rare, quiet Saturday morning. That evening, all of the local relatives came over for some bbq and another egg hunt.
Easter morning dawned clear and bright, which is how I always picture the weather to be on the happiest day in history!
After our Sunday afternoon nap, we decorated eggs out in the garage.
Monday was a teacher inservice day, so the kids were home again. We had a lazy morning, and then picnicked at the park. In the afternoon, I took Bella to gymnastics class. She just moved up a class so she is really excited. She keeps saying, “I don’t want to grow any taller!!! I want to stay this height so I can keep doing gymnastics!” Poor girl. Even if she is the shrimp in our family, she’ll still be taller than average!
